At Cloverdale Community Centre, our wellbeing approach is grounded in community connection, inclusion and practical support. We work alongside community members to help navigate complex systems and services through a referral-forward approach that focuses on reducing barriers to meaningful participation in community life.
Rather than simply referring people elsewhere, we aim to walk alongside individuals by helping connect them to appropriate supports, services, opportunities and social connections in ways that are respectful, strengths-based and community-led. This can include assistance with accessing services, completing forms, navigating digital systems, building confidence and linking into local programs, activities and networks.
Our approach recognises that wellbeing is deeply connected to belonging, participation and access. By creating welcoming and trusted spaces, we aim to support people to build confidence, strengthen social connection and engage more fully in their community.
This work is strengthened through partnerships with tertiary education providers who support student placements across a range of disciplines. Placement students work alongside our team to contribute to community wellbeing outcomes while gaining valuable, real-world experience in community-based practice.
